The world can be cruel when cold winds blow down… hard times left alone, people once there are no longer around. And although things have become dark in this hell they call jail I’m hoping you will supply me the sunshine I need to get through when all else fails.
If you can see yourself giving your attention to a man stuck in a cell could you agree to hold off from judging me – at least until you knew me well? But if you must judge me please take into account the conditions in which I am being assailed. Look at my ability to keep the faith, not just in victory but also when I have failed.
Because a man is made of many things, none of which can be seen with a glance… and even a rose can grow from concrete if watered and given a chance. So I am hoping you understand my situation, or if not you will give me an opportunity to change your mind. Heaven is love and hell is loneliness – yet we only experience one at a time.
Was I dreaming to dream I could come here and find a friend who understood the ups and downs, the joys and pains – the bad as well as the good? I know I am a stranger, but it take a stranger to make a friend. I am kind, loyal, and generous with my compassions, nothing like other men, but you’ll never know this unless you pick up a pen.
I can’t control what happens now but I’m a firm believer in fate. God willing you’ll send me a smile or two to comfort me behind these prison gates. Whether it’s a letter or a picture or the fragrance that you wear, from a distance I’d be able to feel you if the sincerity is there.
Anxiously I wait to hear a precious word from you to make me laugh and smile awhile, happiness over lonely days – can you understand my point of view?
