My name is Corey and I was raised in Okolona Arkansas. I have 7 brothers and 1 sister; I am the youngest.
I like to read and cook; cooking is one of my prison job duties. I cook for all the correctional officers on the shift.
I love listening to music – any type; that takes up a lot of my time except for my hobby. My hobby is working with leather. I make belts, purses and key chains. I have been doing it for 3 years now. It takes my mind off of prison and allows me to relax.
I have been locked up for 12 years now and I need all of the help that I can get to set my mind free from this environment. I am divorced. I have 2 boys who are 13 and 12. They are good boys and I am proud of them. My youngest son has Autism. That is hard on me because he does not talk. I pray about and I hope that he gets better. My religion is Jehovah Witness. I had been one all of my life. I had stopped going right before that I got locked up. Now I am back in full force. I have learned a lot of values and morals that will help me deal with the future relationships and keep me on the right path.
I hope that my crime does not distort your view of me; I hope that my crime does not prevent you from giving me a chance.
